Staff Excellence Award
Jennifer Bennett and Judy Coomber receiving their award from Peter Bottomley MP and Donald Lonsdale, Chairman of Careways Trust at the Annual General Meeting 2006
Judy Coomber, Care Assistant, and Jennifer Bennett, Senior Care Assistant, receive the Staff Excellence Award from the Careways Trust Chairman, Donald Lonsdale, and Peter Bottomley MP at the AGM in October 2006.
Careways Trust works to improve the quality of life by providing the highest standard of care and nursing in a well maintained living environment. The Trust's staff require many professional competences to fulfil their roles, and undertake much training and continuing professional development. The nature of their work means that many of our employees bring a vocational commitment to the Homes and residents, easily outperforming any objectives or targets set at appraisals or during supervision. Staff and volunteers frequently give up their own time to fundraise, spend time with residents, or train. Drawn from all roles, these people bring an enormous added and unique value to the Trust's service for residents, which their pay and benefits package simply can not fully recognise.
The Staff Excellence Award provides an opportunity for employees and the Trust to acknowledge that commitment. Any person, paid or unpaid, is eligible to be nominated, provided they carry out their work in a Trust home, or in the grounds, whether a volunteer or a direct employee or employed by a contractor. Nominations can be made by any member of staff by completing a form submitting the individuals achievement meriting consideration. The three people from each home with the most nominations are considered by the Trust's Chief Executive against basic criteria including;
- Sickness record
- Timekeeping
- Behaviour towards our internal and external customers
- Training
- Record Keeping
The successful candidate receives the award publicly at the Careways Trust AGM in October, which is accompanied by £100 Marks & Spencer vouchers.
